We asked our student members for their opinions on in-person and virtual events, and what is most important to them when they attend them. 

Our members discussed:

• How the pandemic has impacted their preference for event formats 
• What employers can do to ensure virtual attendees get the most out of hybrid events 
• Why breakout rooms will never replace in-person networking

The pandemic has impacted how our members are attending events in 2022 and 2023, and why they’re more committed to attending in-person events. Contrary to the belief that Gen Z prefer interacting digitally, our members agree that in-person events are much more beneficial. We’ve seen similar responses to in-person interactions in our report on ‘Gen Z in the workplace’ (as featured on Sky News).
