Changing the face of men’s health this Movember

8 November, 2019

In the month formerly known as November, you may notice a change in appearance among the male population. What started as a joke between a couple of friends in Australia has become a global fundraising phenomenon – Movember is here!

Eight members of the Bright Network team are taking up the challenge this year – joining millions of men worldwide to grow a moustache during November. With your help and support they’re aiming to raise over £1,000 to make a difference to men’s health.

Now 16 years old, Movember funds ground-breaking projects all over the world, to address what they call a ‘crisis for men’s health’. Men are dying on average six years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons. Across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides.

Movember exists to raise awareness, unite experts around the world on key projects and prioritise funding for the biggest health issues men face – prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.

At Bright Network HQ we’re enjoying the daily conversations about the challenges of growing a moustache. Always a competitive bunch, it’s not just about who can raise the most money for this important cause – it’s also about who looks best with a ‘tache, of course.

Track their progress and donate on the team’s Movember website.
